Business Studies/Enterprise
Curriculum Intent
In Business Studies we aim to provide a curriculum which inspires entrepreneurs of the future, those who will seek to innovate, to solve the problems and meet needs of generations to come. Through the curriculum we aim to develop students’ understanding of business terminology, key concepts, and challenges businesses face, in the context of the ever-changing modern globalised world. Students will develop key numerical, written, analytical, evaluative and application skills that will be transferable across different subjects. Our curriculum has been chosen to enable students to gain knowledge and understanding of what entrepreneurship and commercialisation is, and how it is vital for the prosperity of local, national and world economies. We strive to deliver a curriculum that is engaging and relatable to students who are living through a technological revolution, which has completely changed the way many businesses operate, has made the world a smaller place, countries more independent, jobs obsolete and our needs becoming greater each year. We also see it as an opportunity to foster ethical thinking business leaders of the future, who through their own ideas and innovations will be able to solve some of the world’s biggest issues, such as standards of living and environmental impacts, improving the lives of millions of people around the world.
